"How can you not believe in anything?" he asked.

"I never said that I didn't believe in anything." she replied, dragging her eyes away from the stars and to the boy lying next to her on the checkered blanket.

"I believe in myself. That everything will work out the way it's meant to no matter how bad everything may seem. I believe that other people have the right to believe in anything they want as long as they don't try to force others into believing what they believe. I believe you can start over whenever you want to, not relying on waiting for a new year or next week to do it. I believe that we are relatively small compared to everything else in the universe. I believe that no matter how many times you get your heart broken you will always fall in love again. I believe in things, just because I don't follow a religion doesn't mean I don't have beliefs."
