Never. As in never touch your face because our hands come in contact with millions of germs and don't let these germs make it to your face, as this can lead to an unwanted acne breakout.

Drink lots of water

Increasing the amount of water you drink is a great way to flush out internal toxins and hydrate your skin from the inside out.

Eat nutritious food

While a healthy diet does not prevent acne, it can help your body have all that it needs to maintain healthy skin. Eat a variety of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and use sugar, fried foods, caffeine and highly-processed foods in moderation. Vitamin A, C, and D are particularly important for maintaining healthy skin.

Clean your face gently

Wash your skin in the morning and before you go to bed with a mild cleanser. Also wash your face after you exercise or sweat heavily. Wash from right under your jawline to your hairline and be sure to rinse all of the cleanser off your face.

Wash your pillowcase

The oils on your pillowcases can cause acne by spreading dirt, grime, and dead skin. At the least, do it weekly, but you can do it every day if you find this tip makes a big difference.

No to stress. Yes to sleep

A good night's sleep can mean a good skin health because when you’re sleep-deprived, your body makes more of the stress hormone cortisol. Elevated levels of cortisol can lead to increased stress and inflammation in the body, hurting your skin’s quality. Additionally, sleep is when most of the body's healing, including skin repair, takes place.

Exercise. Exercise. Exercise

You should exercise regularly each week for overall health and vitality since exercise has long been known to help reduce stress and anxiety and this will help reduce acne.

Stay away from alcohol and drugs

If you are a regular smoker or drinker and worried about acne, consider cutting down on these habits if you're serious about seeing an uptick in overall health.

Say buh bye to sweets, dairy and fast food

I know. This. Is. Hard. But, eating this type of food can trigger inflammation and encourage bacterial infection, making acne worse. It also increases insulin levels, which boosts the production of skin oils.

And, these are the steps on how to prevent acne. If you want to achieve best results, always remember to make these stuffs part of your lifestyle.

P.S. I am not a dermatologist and I myself too is experiencing acne, that's why I posted this article so that you'll be aware too.
