Danes have this concept of "hygge" (pronounced HU-ga) that I think should be incorporated all over the world. It sort of means comfy cozy, like sitting by the fire under a big blanket with a cup of hot cocoa on a snowy winter night. But it can also mean fun, like spending time with your friends at a carnival eating junk food and riding all the rides on a summer day.

So in a way, it's not only about cozy, relaxing downtime, but also a sort of fun and exciting energy in the air that you share with those you care about most.

On Friday and Saturday nights in the summer, you can hear people having parties all along the city streets. I like to sit on my windowsill with the window open and strum gently on my acoustic guitar to provide some nice music for passersby. I like to think it adds to their sense of hygge.
