Excellent sixth plate postmortem daguerreotype of a mother holding her dead child in hand. What makes this post mortem outstanding and unique is that the mother is seated next to her twin sister. In this pristine image the mother clutches the deceased child while the sister sits with her hand interlocked and holding the mother's arm. How said in the fact that they are both sharing in the grief as if one.

This professionally re-sealed image has no defects, tarnish or other blemishes and is housed in a repaired complete leather case. The glare in the full scanned image is not present in the actual dag, but a by-product of scanning the image. This dag presents itself as an outstanding study of preserving the memory of child taken away much, much too soon.
