Hi friends! ✨

Halloween is three weeks away and I am hella ready for it. Bring on the "Hocus Pocus" and the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and fucking Spooky Week because I am here for it all in a very major way.

If you're new here - hey pal, how you doin', welcome - "Songs From Friends" is a thing where I'll share a few song recommendations from my friends and myself. It's a thing I like to do where they pass along comments or thoughts on the songs and I comment on their comments as well as add my own. It's fun for me to write, truthfully.

All of the songs in this list can be found on Spotify - let the recs commence!

Song Title: "Daddy Issues"
Artist: Demi Lovato
Album: Tell Me You Love Me
Genre: Contemporary R&B
Friend: Ava
NKN: Subject matter is a bit touchy, and it's obviously a really personal song to Demi, but of course her vocals are amazing as always. It helps that this song is catchy as hell. Demi's lyrical honesty really gets me sometimes.

Song Title: "As Much As I Ever Could"
Artist: City and Colour (that's the way he spells it btw)
Album: Bring Me Your Love (Special Edition)
Genre: Melodic Acoustic / Indie / Folk
Friend: Chib
NKN: This is the perfect song to listen to if you're feeling mellow or sad or even when you're a chill sorta drunk. Dallas' voice has such a pleasing tone. The song itself is a little melancholic but this is definitely my favorite of all his songs. Good pick, Chib.

Song Title: "Sex Sheets"
Artist: Max Milner
EP: The Acoustic Deleted EP
Genre: Acoustic / Alternative / Indie
Friend: Wiley

Song Title: "No Ceiling"
Artist: Eddie Vedder
Album: Music For The Motion Picture Into The Wild
Genre: Rock (so they say)
Friend: Bear - '"No Ceiling" is a reminder to use every experience I have, every emotion it makes me feel, to grow and learn from. And above all to be true to who I am.'
NKN: How very insightful and emotionally deep, B. I truly wasn't expecting that (or for you to listen to Eddie Vedder, honestly). Then again, since it's you, I suppose I shouldn't be all that surprised.

Song Title: "Spent the Day in Bed"
Artist: Morrissey
Single: Spent the Day in Bed
Genre: Indie Rock / Alternative Rock
Friend: Zee - 'Morrissey never fails to provide the world with thought-provoking music.'

Song Title: "World Spins Madly On"
Artist: The Weepies
Album: Say I Am You
Genre: Folk Rock
Friend: Jam - 'My go-to song when I need to think or if I feel sad.'

Song Title: "Always Gold"
Artist: Radical Face
Album: The Family Tree: The Roots
Genre: Folk
Friend: Tripp - 'Reminds me of my best friend who's practically my brother, and it also relates to my favorite character and his brother too.'
NKN: If you were wondering, T's talking about Sirius Black. We have the fact that he is bae in common.

Song Title: "Honey"
Artist: Swim Deep
Album: Where The Heaven Are We
Genre: Indie Pop / Dream Pop (whatever that is)
Friend: Siobhan - 'This is my favorite song! And the fact that they're British makes it like 10 times better. Trust me, you'll love it!'
NKN: It's got that kind of late 80's pop vibe, you know? And kind of makes you want to sway. So I yield, S. I like it.

Song Title: "Crimson and Clover"
Artist: Tommy James & The Shondells
Album: Anthology
Genre: Pop Rock / Psychedelic Rock
Friend: Lili - 'I sing this on karaoke with Sunny. It gets embarrassing.'

Song Title: "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go"
Artist: Miley Cyrus
Album: Chimes Of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International
Genre: Folk Rock
NKN: This one's from me. It's been coming into my head a lot over the past week so I thought I'd share it. Miley's cover really is beautiful, I love it when her Tennessee twang comes through her vocals.

Song Title: "Thrillbilly"
Artist: Billy Ray Cyrus
Album: Back To Tennessee
Genre: Country
Friend: Sunny - 'Hell yeah! This really reminds me of home and my mama's lovin for Mr. Billy Ray.'
NKN: If this song doesn't make you want to explore the country genre just even a little bit then I don't know what will.

This has been Songs From Friends! I hope everyone liked it. I apologize if it was long-winded, or the layout was confusing. If you like it let me know!
