Even the darkest night will end & the sun will shine again. - Victor Hugo

In life we go through a lot of painful situations. We experience things that we never in a million years thought would ever happen to us. There are nights when we'd cry ourselves to sleep and nights when we'd stay awake asking ''why me''. Nights when we hope that we'd wake up tomorrow and everything would magically become better or we'd wake up and heave a sigh of relief that it was only just a dream.

I'm currently in a situation like that. My family is going through a tough time financially and because of that, I can't go to school anymore and we can't afford rent and a bunch of other things. I haven't really told my friends from school (btw I'm in university) because I feel embarrassed about it and also because I'm a private person.

I come from a small family; just me, my mum and my brother (my parents got divorced about 9 years ago. I'll save that story for later). We weren't super rich or anything but at least we were comfortable. But now, things are really hard. If anyone had told me last year September that by September 2017 I'd be going through something like this, I'd call them nuts! Isn't it crazy how much our lives can change within a year?!.

A few nights ago as I was laying in bed thinking about my life and silently praying to God to make things better, I remembered Annie, the 2014 musical about an orphan and in the movie, she sang a song titled ''Tomorrow'' and it opens with this lyrics:
The sun will come out tomorrow
bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be sun,
Just thinking about tomorrow
clears away the cobwebs and the sorrows till there's none...

I just want to encourage anyone going through any tough situation because I know what it's like to feel knocked down. Remember that the sun will shine tomorrow and by this, I mean that better and brighter days are ahead. It may seem really hard and painful right now but just like how fire refines gold and makes it better and brighter, so will pain bring forth beautiful things from you. I promise you, you'll find your smile again.

You may not see how things could possibly get any better but I need you to believe that somehow someway, everything will turn out fine. Never lose hope because on the days when you feel like you can't go on anymore, you'll need hope to remind you that things are gonna get better. You''ll need hope to remind you that your current situation is not your final destination, that your future is gonna be so beautiful and all your dreams will come true. Just hold on!

I hope this helps at least one person.

I would be happy to hear your own stories or make new friends or connect with anyone who needs to talk.

Best Wishes,
Nellie.
