  • Cuddle with a stuffed toy
  • Watch your favorite TV show
  • Paint your nails
  • Go out to see a movie
  • Do your school work
  • Go into chat rooms to talk
  • Call a friend and ask them to hang out
  • Play a musical instrument
  • Sing
  • Snap a rubber band (or a hair band) on your wrist
  • Cover yourself with band-aids where you want to cut
  • Let yourself cry, even if it's hard
  • Play with a pet
  • Read a book
  • Clean
  • Color your hair
  • Listen to music (nontriggering)
  • Meditate
  • Do yoga
  • Call up an old friend and catch up
  • Bake cookies or another favorite food you like
  • Paint or draw
  • Rip paper into really small pieces
  • Hug a pillow
  • Fingerpaint
  • Dance
  • Make hot chocolate
  • Pop bubble wrap

  • Build a pillow fort
