Is it better to be independent or be reliant on others?

Reliance. They are many things/people whom I rely on. My parents, I rely on them for love, shelter and pocket money, my friends, I rely on them when I want to have fun, someone to talk to, my phone and my earpiece, I rely on them when I need to shield myself from the world.
These are what and who I rely on on a daily basis. Without them, I won't be who I am today.

However, I also learn that I couldn't be too reliant on certain things. You never know when they are going to stab you in the back, betray you and leave you eventually. Everyone leaves, it's just a matter of time. Some people are flicker minded, they change their views and opinions without thinking. and slowly, they forget about you, like you have never existed in their life.

That is when the term "Independence" kicks in. As a child, I was taught to be independent and to rely on no one but myself. Going to school on my own, settle my meals myself, and even doing part-time jobs to earn extra allowance. As time flies, we have no one but ourselves, nobody is gonna be there for you. No matter how scared and lonely you feel, you have to be strong and pull through. There will be a moment in life when you hit rock bottom, feeling crushed. It won't be an easy battle, you will have no choice but to rely on yourself, fight for yourself, nobody else, but yourself.

I've experienced my stormiest phase. It was dark, gloomy and terrifying. I had no one but myself. I pulled through, I fought for myself, I did honour to myself, I did it for me. After all the mental struggle and river of tears, I got back up on my feet

At the end of the day, after all the blood, sweat and tears, the light will shine on you.
